Roadtrip!

We survived our first roadtrip to Oregon and back! When discussing our options of travel, we first cringed at the thought of our family of 4 trucking north 12 hours considering a) our two year old loves to scream these days and b) we'd be stopping frequently for Logan to nurse. However, we decided to embrace the challenge and also lift our little-to-no TV rule for Colin and indulged in a portable dvd player. With this small but incredibly important electronic, we actually ENJOYED the trip. At times, we forgot there were children present as Colin drifted off into Pooh Bear or Baby Einstein land, and Logan slept for huge chunks at a time... It was a great trip and one we will likely do again. We enjoyed our vacation so much that when Morgan suggested we round out the last day by stopping for a 1/2 day at Disneyland, we went for it. Great way to end the trip. **A special thank you to Grammie, Dave and the chickens (Eeyore, Gypsy, Consuela, and Sa-punky - as Colin pronounces it) for a quite wonderful and special trip. We miss you so much and can't wait for our next visit!

2 Months

My sweet little punkin is 2 months today. No doubt about it, he is perfect. I can say this because I'm his mom of course :) In all seriousness though, I couldn't have dreamed a more amazing baby. He has a sweetness and alertness that makes my heart smile daily. And his little expressions are just too much. These days he is cooing and smiling and "talking" non-stop and it immediately makes Morgan and I smile every time he is chatting us up. Like Colin did as an infant, he wakes up in an incredibly happy mood and mornings are spent just staring at our little angel. Of course being the second child, our sweet time is often interrupted by Colin climbing and jumping around the bed which shakes things up a bit but it inevitably ends with Colin wanting to "hug Logan" and "kiss Logan" and "skeeze Logan"... and the budding relationship between brothers is just so special to watch.

Yesterday while driving back from the waterslides in Ashland, Logan started to fuss (something that rarely happens and ONLY happens when he is hungry). Colin knows this and so was a bit taken aback and instantly starting saying "it's ok, it's ok" and then said "it's ok Lo Lo's"... Morgan and I burst out laughing... sweet moments.

Happy 2nd month birthday my sweet Lo Lo's... we love you so very much!!

My baby boy

It's getting sweeter by the second. My little punkin (affectionately known as Baby Logan, Lo Lo, Finny and more) is a true gem. It's unreal how chill this kid is! :) He is either sleeping sweetly, nursing or staring with huge blue eyes that regularly will crinkle as he smiles the most enormous smile. I keep wondering how it is possible that I scored two times with two easy babies! And more important than ease, is how he manages to make me love him more each day than the day before. There is something about this little one, and I just can't get enough of him!!

Big Day!

So many new things going on in our lives, it's hard to keep track! Yesterday, our sweet Colie Bear had his first day of Pre-PreSchool. As I stood in the kitchen making my big boy a lunch for "school", I distinctly remembered back to the days when my mom would pack our lunches and explain and re-explain why we couldn't have the the pizza, chips and chocolate milk schools called "lunch". And here I was. And with my own little one!
And then the time came to take Colin to school. I snapped pictures and Morgan shot video as Colin proudly and confidently entered his new PreSchool. He cried a bit when we left but could see (since we hid and watched for a few extra minutes) that Miss KK took care of our bear and he did great! He will attend Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-12:30 and I think it may be more difficult for mama then for Colin. How does the time go so quickly?
