VEGAS (with) BABBYYYY

We just returned from our 1st official family vacation since Logan was born, that didn't include going to stay wth family! It was a bit surreal as we ventured to Las Vegas because I remember as a child doing this trip oh so many times.

The 4 hour drive out there was quite challenging (two certain little boys would NOT NAP) so I was a bit concerned on how the 3 days would go... But luckily once we arrived, everything was smooth sailing! We so enjoyed Vegas from a kids perspective: Pool time, wandering the streets seeing the big, shiny buildings and of course lots of time at Circus Circus playing games. The kids were in heaven, and Morgan and I couldn't help but smile at each other multiple times with the shared knowing that they were having a ball.

Our second night was a treat for Morg and I too, as Auntie Krysten watched our littles, and we went out for an amazing meal, and to an incredible show: Cirque de Soleil Beattles show, "Love". What an awesome night! Perfect balance of kid and adult time, and great getaway!

14 months...

Dear Logan,

This past month, your interest in books has exploded. For your first birthday, you received one of the "Pookie" series cardboard books, and I loved that you took to your first book- especially because of the title: so close to Pooka, my nick name for you. Since then, I have bought another of the series, and you are in love with the stories. You still are using your pointing and grunting to communicate for the most part, but there is no denying what you want when you point, grunt and practically run to your books. Now, before each nap and before bed, whomever is putting you down reads those two books and you giggle through the whole read. I am so happy about this and hope your love for reading is as permanent as your brothers.

It is so exciting to see how sure of yourself you are. You get to where you want to be (confidently and quickly), and you know what you want. You are as sweet as they come, and yet so determined. It's awesome to see how these two things which usually might not happen in unison, can with you. You babble mama, dada, ba (ball) regularly, and love your family. You cuddle with us all the time, and it melts my heart all over again each time. I am soaking up every second with you, and stare at your blue/green/hazel eyes (depending on the day) with such admiration.

I love you my sweet Finny Pooka!
Love,
Mama

Happiness is...

good friends and summer fun!

We enjoyed an amazing weekend with Athena..! Perfect balance of activity and relazing, and even some kid free fun! I relished in so much pool time, and enjoyed a chance to wine taste- two things I really haven't been able to appreciate since we moved last year.

The weekend ended with a little cruise down to feed the ducks. We are thoroughly loving this gorgeous (and dare I say) cooler summer.

Life is good!

1st Hair Cut

Yesterday, Logan's looks morphed from baby to big(ger) boy. Gone are his wispies and here is a little boy-styled "do". We prolonged the inevitable as long as possible, but it was time... and he looks darling! Such my sweet big boy, but man am I glad he is still my "baby" with his cuddles and hugs. I love that he is such a snuggler and even a a few snips of hair can't change that! Here's the before, during and after shots :)
