FIVE!

This past weekend, our beautiful and spirited first born, celebrated five years in this life. There is something about this round number that makes me pause. I remember how tiny and fragile he was on the day of his birth. Five years later, I couldn't help notice how he is truly a little boy - his limbs having stretched out, leggy and the face of a child, not a baby. Colin knows who he is, and I love that. He is full of strength, and is not afraid to speak his mind, fight for what he wants and on the flip side, feel comfortable and accepted when showing his sensitive side. He appreciates the little details of life, and has a social side that is unprecedented with his parents. At times, we are exhausted by the sheer volume of topics he will discuss at length, but I know these qualities - of curiosity, of confidence, of engagement, will serve him wonderfully in life. His face is as beautiful as they come, and I simply can't love on him enough. This year, Colin couldn't have been more excited to celebrate his "special day" (as he kept telling everyone). We enjoyed the day with friends and family, having a pizza and Pinnochio movie party complete with tickets and popcorn. It was a perfect day and I am so very grateful for the love our beautiful boy brings to our family each day!!
