So much to learn

I realized that over the past couple months, we without really knowing it, have stretched the brains of our sweethearts. Classes, activities, new school - it has been a time of transition and expansion! I am realizing this is the way it will be from here on out and it is a mix of exhaustion and excitement as we watch them learn and grow, and yet become glorified taxi drivers taking them from activity to activity. I realize now, why my own mama must have felt she was always on the go!

It began with 'Tots n Pots' for Colin last month. A darling cooking class with 4 boys and 3 girls. Celine, our french cooking goddess was wonderful with the little ones, showing them fun and healthful things to make. Colin is a natural foodie and he loved every tasty moment!

Onto a big moment for our sweet Lo Lo's...his first day of pre-preschool. June 2nd was a big day as he joined his big brother with lunch box in hand to begin ABC school for 2 half days a week. Although just shy of 2, I feel strongly this little time each week is and will continue to be very good for him as he grows verbally and socially. And the cherry on the top is that he has the same teacher Colin had as a 2 year old, Miss KK. We adore this amazing lady, and luckily Logan has known her since he was just weeks old.

And now we are submerged in swimming lessons, Tball (practices and games) for Colin and Logan has begun his first music class. Despite the crazy schedules we maintain, our energetic boys LOVE these outlets, and we love seeing them smile. I had intentions of adding tap to mix for Colin, but that will have to wait until fall :)

Happy Summer!!

You are my Sunshine!

We celebrated Logan's 2nd birthday with a traditional summer pool party. Our summer solstice baby shined in true Lo Lo fashion - happy and smiley, and he truly soaked up all the love this past Saturday. It was a great day of family and close friends, swimming, playing, eating and having fun! I made sunshine cake pops and Logan thoroughly rocked his vegan, non sugar pumpkin muffin with organic whipped cream. Mmmm!

A great day with special memories!!

2 Years Young

My sweet Lo Lo's,

This morning at 6:15am (a bit earlier than normal), I heard you through the monitor begin to babble and giggle. I heard, "Mamaaa" followed by lots of words such as "elmo book" and all the names of the characters you love. This typically occurs each morning around 7am and I wait for a couple "mama's" before either your daddy or I venture up to get you. Today, I popped out of bed like it was christmas morning to race upstairs and scoop my birthday boy up. We sang happy birthday to you, and after our final "to you", you had the sweetest most beautiful grin on your face and you pointed to yourself and said "TO ME!". It was that moment that my eyes welled up in tears and my heart about burst with love for our incredible little boy.

Since the time you were 2 minutes old, you have been the smiliest, happiest boy. You have an infectious smile and it is very commonplace that we hear from others what an angel you are. Even during times of transitions (starting school a couple weeks ago, beginning swimming lessons yesterday, new babysitters etc.), you may cry for a bit, but your sweetness melts the hearts of everyone who knows you. You have the most delicate balance of a completely gentle and sensitive soul and a strong and confident babe. I see this so often. You can go from cuddling beyond the norm of a 2 year old to holding your own with your brother in a matter of minutes. Your verbal skills have exploded the last month, and "my _____" has become a phrase used often as you develop your sense of self!

I will always remember the morning you were born - the first day of summer and fathers day. You entered the world at 5:25am right as the sun was coming up. This couldn't be more appropriate because you truly are like a shining sun. You make everything happy and bright and bring light to the lives of everyone!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my beautiful, sweet son Logan Finley. You shine beyond words!!

Love, Mama

Our Daddy

Today we celebrate all the love, caring and tenderness that daddies give their babies. I know for our family, I sit in awe constantly of how amazing Morgan is with our wee ones. He is the daddy that can play in the pool for hours, be on the floor for a million minutes being silly or wrestling or sit and read with a child or two in his lap for what feels like 5,000 stories (and 4,999 of them could be the same book!). He has patience in these ways far beyond the patience I have, and he has a huge, protective papa bear style that warms my soul. Our family is blessed beyond words to have such an involved, loving father to our kids and I am thankful every day for his partnership in co-parenting these little guys. Happy Fathers Day to an inspirational daddy who is teaching our boys what it is to be true men!
