Chef Colin

Godmommy Judy came to visit, and she and Colin had a wonderful time baking together.  Being that she is  amazing in the kitchen, Colin was in the best hands possible as he experienced his first cooking lesson!  Yes, these may be cookies, but mama was content in knowing they were organic, healthy cookies!  I have a feeling, Judy began a tradition that Colin won't soon forget. Such fun!

9 months of Lo Lo Love

9 months ago, my sweet angel Logan blessed our lives and forever changed my heart. I could have never guessed how profound my love could be for a second baby, but it is true: your babies are your babies and there aren't and never will be favorites.  Logan has changed so much in this past month.  His crawling is more like sprinting on all fours, and he is now pulling himself up on any wall, chair, person he can get his hands on.  A few weeks ago, I gasped in happiness when I entered his room to find him standing up in his crib, bouncing away - happy as always.  He is babbling like crazy and in the last week has really become so communicative...well, as communicative as a 9 month old can be. When everyone is engaged and chatting away, he has taken to reaching his arm out straight and something fierce and babbling in long and strong tones as if to remind everyone he is here and has something to say too. Of course, his conviction ends in a huge bottom toothy grin which makes everyone smile.  I wonder, when will people stop making the comments they have made since he was born?...such as "is he always this happy?", "if I was guaranteed to have a baby as perfect as he, I would surely have another", or "he is by far the happiest baby I have ever seen". I think I am coming to find that this is him. Pure. Real. Joyful. Infectious.

I cherish every second of him and in seeing how quickly the time seems to go, I have taken to lately, spending just an extra few minutes breathing him in at night.  There is no feeling in the world more incredible than a sleeping babe cradled in his mama's arms. And I simply can't get enough of him.

Happiest Place on Earth

Years ago, I wasn't a fan of Disneyland. The crowds, the kids, the lines... I simply didn't understand how anyone could call it the happiest place on earth.  Fast forward to a different time and place... an adult with her husband, a little boy almost 3 beaming at the sight of mickey and minnie and a bright-eyed baby in awe of all the colors, sounds and people... As a parent, I now understand the joy this magical place brings!

We had a wonderful day on Friday with our friends, The Bennetts. It was especially festive as it was Ainsley's birthday!  It is a true blessing to see your children so happy and to gel even more as a family.  This past week has been a bit dark and it was a reminder to celebrate life and not take even one second for granted. Children bring joy like no other and my babies faces brighten my life more than words can ever express!

Two birthdays and a baby shower!

This past weekend was loaded with celebratory fun!  We kicked the weekend off with Grammie's arrival which made our babies beam with happiness!  Then Saturday morning, we headed to Tyler's birthday party. Colin had a blast and our new friends really did it up- CARS-STYLE, all the way. The bouncy house was a hit and everyone enjoyed visiting, eating and watching the kiddos.  From the party, we made our way up to LA for a special 60th birthday dinner for Grammie. We dined at Roy's and enjoyed an amazing adult meal (while Colin played nearby with mama's cousins).  At that point, our family split up - Morgan and Colin off to Auntie Tay Tay's, and Logan and I off to Joe's.  A small group of us (Grammie, Joe, Judy, Rachel, Logan and I) had so much fun preparing for the shower. We decorated and prepped until the wee hours and then had an old fashioned slumber party. Sunday was all about the baby shower in honor of Mama Tam! Our green theme turned out beautifully and all the work paid off- it was a success!!! My soon to be niece or nephew will definitely be stylin in all the cute clothes and gear he/she received.

Despite all the fun, I was definitely ready to get home and collapse!!
