The Outdoors

Other than many camping adventures as a young girl scout, I have never been one to claim that I love camping. Dirt, bugs, cold...just not my thing. Fast forward to being a mama of two littles.... I have recently found a new appreciation for camping as Colin has become a fanatic about exploring the outdoors and his excitement about the whole thing is irresistable! Over the last few weeks, Morgan has taken Colin "camping" in our backyard a few times and tonight Logan joined his brother and daddy. They set up the new tent (how sweet that they purchased a new tent big enough for us all - lucky me!! ha!) and headed out back with 4 books and a flashlight, and a twinkle in their eyes. I can't help but smile as I watch them enjoying this new hobby. But don't get me wrong: here I sit - on my cozy sofa - enjoying some alone time, and I won't deny I prefer my bed over a sleeping bag. I know the time will come sooner than later that I will accompany the boys when we go "real camping" (and I'm sure it will be a blast), but in the meantime, I will relax INSIDE while listening to their giggles OUTSIDE. :)
