Jr Sports

Last week while I was in New Jersey, Colin began his 8 week intro to sports program. Morgan told me all about the 50 minute session, detailing how adorable the kids were as they introduced themselves ("I'm Colin and I had banana, vitamins, water, milk, muffin, cereal for breakfast"), stretched, and learned a thing or two about flag football. This past Saturday I was able to take it all in myself, and just grinned non-stop at the cuteness! The next weeks will be filled with soccer, T ball and track and field. And it seems, the next many YEARS will include this Saturday morning ritual. What a fun way to spend Saturday mornings! And although never in sports myself, I kinda like the idea of being a soccer mom ;)

STRETCHING!

Gone is Summer

It feels like this summer went by in a blur. I'm not sure if it was because we never truly had typical summer weather - more like one month of warmth followed by cooler, crisper days and straight into fall,- or because we were too busy having so much fun with extended family and cousins Keaton, Stella & Mikayla, friends, vacations and our own sweet family... But all the same, as fast as it went by, the time I would have liked to document with photos also seemed to slip through my fingers. Now that my big fundraising event has passed, I'm catching up on "life"...and just in time to begin getting ready for the holidays. Life is grand and magical! Here are some fun shots from our last month or so...

15 months

Dear sweet Logan,

How is it that you are already 15 months? You are growing bigger and bigger, and yet your baby ways are still ever present which I love. I have never seen such a cuddle bug, and secretly hope this will stay forever... You regularly walk over to me or your daddy and lean your head against our knees, or walk up with arms raised so that I can scoop you up and you throw your head down on my shoulder. In those moments, my heart wants to burst.

Of course, you are active as ever and love trying all the things your brother accomplishes. You are eager to have your own lunch pail, and are quick to try and head out the door when I take Colin to preschool. Lately, you have started scurrying up onto the couch and jumping off. Oh my goodness! And you love to dance - especially to the Glee soundtrack and to Tiny Dancer. You have some pretty advanced moves too! You point to your head, eyes, nose, mouth on command, and you are a babbling fool - still only uttering mama, dada, and baba - but lots of beautiful sounds. We absolutely know what you want, so communicating is no issue... You love to eat and sign "MORE" all the time... you are a bottomless pit!! :) And at night, you love to read your books and go very easily to sleep.. You are my angel baby.

Good night sweet Finny... I love you more than you will ever know!!

Love, Mama

VEGAS (with) BABBYYYY

We just returned from our 1st official family vacation since Logan was born, that didn't include going to stay wth family! It was a bit surreal as we ventured to Las Vegas because I remember as a child doing this trip oh so many times.

The 4 hour drive out there was quite challenging (two certain little boys would NOT NAP) so I was a bit concerned on how the 3 days would go... But luckily once we arrived, everything was smooth sailing! We so enjoyed Vegas from a kids perspective: Pool time, wandering the streets seeing the big, shiny buildings and of course lots of time at Circus Circus playing games. The kids were in heaven, and Morgan and I couldn't help but smile at each other multiple times with the shared knowing that they were having a ball.

Our second night was a treat for Morg and I too, as Auntie Krysten watched our littles, and we went out for an amazing meal, and to an incredible show: Cirque de Soleil Beattles show, "Love". What an awesome night! Perfect balance of kid and adult time, and great getaway!

14 months...

Dear Logan,

This past month, your interest in books has exploded. For your first birthday, you received one of the "Pookie" series cardboard books, and I loved that you took to your first book- especially because of the title: so close to Pooka, my nick name for you. Since then, I have bought another of the series, and you are in love with the stories. You still are using your pointing and grunting to communicate for the most part, but there is no denying what you want when you point, grunt and practically run to your books. Now, before each nap and before bed, whomever is putting you down reads those two books and you giggle through the whole read. I am so happy about this and hope your love for reading is as permanent as your brothers.

It is so exciting to see how sure of yourself you are. You get to where you want to be (confidently and quickly), and you know what you want. You are as sweet as they come, and yet so determined. It's awesome to see how these two things which usually might not happen in unison, can with you. You babble mama, dada, ba (ball) regularly, and love your family. You cuddle with us all the time, and it melts my heart all over again each time. I am soaking up every second with you, and stare at your blue/green/hazel eyes (depending on the day) with such admiration.

I love you my sweet Finny Pooka!
Love,
Mama

Happiness is...

good friends and summer fun!

We enjoyed an amazing weekend with Athena..! Perfect balance of activity and relazing, and even some kid free fun! I relished in so much pool time, and enjoyed a chance to wine taste- two things I really haven't been able to appreciate since we moved last year.

The weekend ended with a little cruise down to feed the ducks. We are thoroughly loving this gorgeous (and dare I say) cooler summer.

Life is good!

1st Hair Cut

Yesterday, Logan's looks morphed from baby to big(ger) boy. Gone are his wispies and here is a little boy-styled "do". We prolonged the inevitable as long as possible, but it was time... and he looks darling! Such my sweet big boy, but man am I glad he is still my "baby" with his cuddles and hugs. I love that he is such a snuggler and even a a few snips of hair can't change that! Here's the before, during and after shots :)
